What is your day-to-day role at Vista Financial Group/Orange Wealth?

My daily tasks primarily revolve around ensuring a smooth onboarding process for new clients. This involves gathering and analysing client data, conducting pre-assessments, carrying out product research, and handling compliance work. I also create comprehensive advice presentations for our advisers. Aside from those, I also assist with paraplanning, calendar management, and preparation for client meetings.

How long have you been working with the team and what do you enjoy most about your job?

I've had the pleasure of working with the team for about two years and five months now. What I cherish most about my job is the vibrant team culture and the positive work environment we've cultivated together. Whether we're celebrating milestones, enjoying coffee breaks, having potlucks, or simply chatting about our weekends, every moment is filled with positivity and connection. My teammates are incredibly supportive and approachable!

Share a work-related goal or accomplishment that you're particularly proud of.

While it may not be a single achievement, I find great fulfillment whenever we receive referrals from our existing clients. I see it as an indication that they were pleased with their experience, which in turn also serves as a strong endorsement of the quality of work that we do and the services that we provide.

Share a quirky or unique habit you have that helps you stay productive at work.

I wouldn't call it particularly quirky, but it's sort of a routine that I like to stick to for powering through the day. In the morning, I enjoy a cup of warm matcha, and in the afternoon, a cup of warm green tea. Occasionally, I also indulge in a cup of warm milk tea! It just feels so soothing and comforting. Creating a relaxed state of mind helps me think more clearly and is key to my productivity.

When and where was your best vacation?

Just last month, we went to Singapore to watch Taylor Swift’s concert. Where do I even begin?! First of all, the food was amazing! We went to a lot of hawker centres and made it a point to check out and try the different Michelin-rated stalls. My favourite was the Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice, a hearty serving of tender chicken glazed with a flavourful sauce and some chili. Knowing that this dish has been praised by the likes of Anthony Bourdain and Gordon Ramsay, I had to try it for myself. The verdict? Homey, delightful, and filling. It was definitely worth the long queue (and the hype). Five stars!

It was a week-long trip so we also had the chance to go sight-seeing and visit different tourist attractions. We also rode their cable cars and went to Universal Studios Singapore. Then came the highlight of the whole trip, which was night five of Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour concert. The stadium felt so magical and the crowd was full of so much energy! It was four hours of cheering and singing our hearts out—unquestionably a happy “core memory” for me.

What do you do in your spare time?

I usually gravitate towards activities that bring me comfort and little sparks of joy. Being an introvert, I enjoy spending time at home. I find solace in writing in my journal, drawing, and occasionally playing games such as Animal Crossing. Another favourite pastime of mine is spending quality time with my cats. I make it a point to play with them regularly to keep them healthy!

What's your go-to karaoke song?

While I'm not the biggest fan of karaoke, if I were to choose a song, it would definitely be "Hey, Soul Sister" by Train.
