How many people do you know right now who have a side hustle?!
Or are considering one?
Side hustles have been a thing for quite a while.
What’s interesting, though, is that the rising cost of living has turbocharged what was previously a mini (ways of working) revolution.
Here’s the kicker.
Most people who’re unhappy with what they’re doing – a job, say, in corporate, for example – think the path out of their situation is starting a full-time business straight off the bat.
Which is super hard.
Likely seriously difficult.
Particularly if you don’t have the stomach for the challenges and stress that invariably come with getting traction in the first couple of years.
Some make it.
Some don’t.
In fact, the attrition rate of new businesses that fail is in the vicinity of 90 percent.
Here’s the biggest observation I’ve made – through clients, friends, family and a wider network.
Most side hustles become a vehicle for people getting out of corporate and eventually becoming their full-time gig.
This means they can be a fantastic way to ‘transition’.
I’ll repeat that word again.
Transition.
And there’s a reason.
More often than not, your ‘boring old’ corporate job can be the perfect springboard to transition into something you really want to do, full-time.

Superannuation is a key part of retirement planning for Australians, and understanding the different types of contributions can help you make the most of your super.
