What role do you perform at Vista Financial Group?
As a Financial Adviser at Vista Financial Group, I provide strategic guidance to set my clients up for long-term success. By taking the time to understand each client’s unique circumstances and aspirations, I build a tailored plan that aligns with their specific goals. My clients can feel assured that they are making informed decisions that pave the way for a secure and successful tomorrow.
Why did you join the financial planning industry?
My journey to becoming a financial planner was shaped by my upbringing. Like many Australians, my parents had their money tied up in the family home, and cash flow was a constant talking point. I wanted a different path for future. This desire drove me to explore the importance of passive income generation and the benefits of wealth creation strategies. By becoming a financial planner, I aim to help others navigate their financial journeys, ensuring they have the tools and knowledge to enjoy a secure future.
What's the most challenging aspect of your role, and how do you overcome it?
Navigating a client’s emotional responses to financial decisions can at times be challenging. Money is often tied to personal values, fears and aspirations which can complicate discussions around investments and planning. At an industry level, the role of a Financial Planner is faced with constant change (whether that be regulations or market conditions) and this requires ongoing education and adaptability.
What do you do in your spare time?
I love spending time with my young family. Recently we have joined our local tennis club and try to get at least one game in every weekend (if the Melbourne weather permits). Travel is also a passion of mine. I love seeing new places and learning about different cultures. My favourite place in the world would have to be the Swiss Alps. I also love my sport – specifically AFL. We haven’t had the best of years (winning the wooden spoon), but the Richmond Tigers are going to have a big 2025, I hope!
If you were a character in a TV show or movie, who would you be, and why?
Hugh Jackman – Whilst I definitely do not have the Wolverine six pack, I think it would be pretty cool to play Hugh Jackman in a movie.
What's your go-to karaoke song?
It’s cliché, but probably Wonderwall by Oasis. Don’t judge me!
What is the weirdest thing you have eaten?
When I was in Barcelona just over a decade ago, I ordered late night tapas. The room was poorly lit, and I remember biting into a very hard bone. I turned my phone light on only to discover I had just eaten part of a rabbit skull. That was the last time I ate at that restaurant!
