Each offers different perspectives along the way.
Back to my new coach for a second.
The very first question they asked me was this…
"Is your spending aligned with your lifestyle and lifetime goals?"
Given what I do, the answer, as you’d expect, was yes.
My main lifetime goals?
Renovate our house (if you’re a long-time reader, you’ll know we’ve come full circle this way).
Send our kids to a private school.
Take reasonably regular holidays and breaks, both abroad and domestically, with a particular hope of creating lifelong memories with the family.
And, from a lifestyle perspective, for my wife and I to enjoy life along the way.
The point I’m trying to make is this – everything starts with identifying your lifetime goals.
That way, you know precisely what you’re working towards and if your current lifestyle and resultant spending are helping you work towards reaching them.
