Like most of us, Jason Chew has been spending a lot of time on his phone over the Christmas break. He writes about three (non-finance) apps which he couldn’t live without.

Remember when you got your first smartphone?
iPhone, Andriod, whatever.
If you were like me, you had every app you could get your hands on.
When apps were first exploding, it was a real novelty.
So much so that you ended up with screens and screens of apps, 90 percent of which you'd eventually never use.
There are some, though, you can't live without and quickly become part of your regular routine – outside of, say, your banking app, for instance.
Here are the three I currently couldn't live without...
Hip Camp
It's basically the Airbnb of camping, whereby private landowners let you camp on their properties. We camp regularly, so it's fastly become our go-to.
Strava
If you're active, chances are you're already on Strava. To the uninitiated, the app effectively lets you track all your exercise activities, as well as get kudos from your friends for staying active.
Asana Rebel
A friend put me on to this mid-last year. It's basically a holistic resource for being active and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. In fact, it's easily the most comprehensive platform in this space that I've come across.
I'll also add a fourth – Domain.
As you'd expect, I'm on it daily or at least every other day.
I definitely prefer it over realestate.com.au – that's just personal preference, though.

July 2026 Centrelink changes could improve Age Pension eligibility for some retirees. While the increased assets and income thresholds may allow more people to qualify for a part pension, the actual benefit depends on whether your entitlement is assessed under the assets or income test. If you're close to the eligibility limits, now may be the right time to review your Centrelink position and ensure you're receiving any benefits and concessions available to you.
