Annie McNaughton has spent over 15 years in client services roles within the Financial Planning industry & has recently joined the Vista Financial Group team as a Client Service Manager. She has an eye for detail & a focus on building strong relationships with both clients & the FP team. Annie strives to provide all clients with exceptional service & is committed & passionate in assisting them to meet their financial goals.

Why did you join the financial planning industry?

Having spent the first chapter of my career in the banking industry, I wanted to continue to assist clients with their financial needs. I have now been in a client service role in the financial planning industry for over 15 years.

What is your day-to-day role at Vista Financial Group?

To provide a high level of support to our Financial Adviser Kate, with the onboarding of new clients, as well as servicing our existing clients. This can range from scheduling appointments, preparing review reports,  transacting, providing advice documents & implementing changes.

What's the most challenging work in your role that you did and how did you overcome it?

The constant changes within the industry can be challenging but also rewarding at the same time. Learning new systems & platforms can also seem overwhelming but once implemented can provide a sense of accomplishment.

Share a quirky or unique habit you have that helps you stay productive at work.

I’m a “list person” so I like to make a list of jobs to be completed if my workload is becoming a little hectic. This is also helpful to prioritise the urgent tasks to be completed.

When and where was your best vacation?

I was lucky enough to spend a year backpacking through quite a number of countries when I was younger, with a few favourites being Russia, South Africa, Switzerland, Ireland, Egypt, Turkey & USA. Now days I’m happy with a couple of weeks each year enjoying the beach & restaurants in Noosa.

What do you do in your spare time?

In my spare time I do enjoy reading a good biography, watching the Geelong Cats play, body-boarding, walking & dining out at nice restaurants.

If you were a character in a TV show or movie, who would you be, and why?

Gloria from Happy Feet because she can sing & penguins are one of my favourite animals.

What is the weirdest thing you have eaten?

Escargot in France & goat in Turkey.

Age Pension Changes: What Retirees Need to Know

July 2026 Centrelink changes could improve Age Pension eligibility for some retirees.
