Meet Matt Damos, a seasoned professional with over 30 years of experience in the Banking and Finance industry. Throughout his extensive career, Matt has held a diverse array of roles, showcasing his versatility and expertise. His professional journey includes significant positions in Business and Commercial Banking, Credit, Strategic Management, and Private Banking.

In each of these roles, Matt has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to excellence and a deep understanding of the financial landscape. His broad skill set and strategic acumen have enabled him to navigate complex financial scenarios and deliver innovative solutions.

What role at Vista do you have?

“I have been employed as a Senior Mortgage Broker.”

Why did you join the mortgage broking industry?

“After being in the finance industry for some 30 years and residing on the Mornington Peninsula, I decided to move to the mortgage broking space. This shift kept me in the industry while eliminating the daily travel to the city. It also allowed me to have a more concentrated approach to customer banking relationships and provide a high level of continuity for clients.”

What do you enjoy most about your job?

“Being able to assist clients in achieving their goals. Being on the journey and seeing them achieve these outcomes is essentially what is most rewarding.”

Share a quirky or unique habit you have that helps you stay productive at work.

“No real quirk or habit, but music in the background helps, as well as the occasional change-up to the day. It’s good to break the norm.”

When and where was your best vacation?

“Haven’t been on one recently, though I would have to say my last vacation to New York was definitely up there. I enjoyed the immersive experience.”

What do you do in your spare time?

“I never have enough spare time, though my main love is anything design and classic cars. This is where I like to spend most of my spare time, together with anything that includes being able to create something.”

What is the weirdest thing you have eaten?

“Hmmm, nothing really that weird. I’m quite consistent when it comes to food, so I haven’t really been in a position where I’ve put myself in that situation.”

Favourite Team Sports?

“I can do any team sports, especially if the Green and Gold is involved.”

Matt’s dedication to his clients and his passion for helping them achieve their goals make him an invaluable member of the Vista team. Whether he’s assisting clients with their mortgage needs or indulging in his love for design and classic cars, Matt brings a unique blend of expertise and enthusiasm to everything he does.
